Harnessing Thoughts in a Positive Way to Change Your Life
Have you ever thought to yourself “everything is going too well, I know something bad is going to happen sooner or later!” And sure enough, something bad then follows! This happens all the time, so much so that we are desensitized to it occurring and don’t even notice it happening. All of us, even the most positive people, have negative thoughts during the day. These negative thoughts are then externalized to the outside world and can become self-fulfilling. The great news is that the reverse can occur as well! Events in our lives can look pretty grim and we think “well, life has hit bottom – it can only go up from here.” Bam! Next thing we know, life starts looking brighter. Whether we realize it or not, our mind manifests our intentions. Think of what we could do if we could harness this internal visualization power. Incredibly, we can! Below I will explain techniques and ways to channel this power and change the way you view the world.
Sometimes we feel fragile, like we are in a fast moving roller coaster without a seat belt. Deep down we may know who and what we are as powerful beings, but the world outside of us, with its mindless flow of sound bites and persuasion can still make it hard to manifest our intentions. We know this outside world exists, in fact, it seems pretty darn real. We can see it, hear it, feel it and even change it. It must exist, especially since we all agree it does. But, where does that agreement originate if not in our minds. We should be manifesting our thoughts to influence the external world. When we really see that it is an internal issue as opposed to an external issue, we are heading the right direction, even if that means there needs to be alignment between all of our minds as well.
Let’s agree for a moment that the power of intention is all internal. Look at how much power that gives us. Imagine living in this world with everyone using their power of decision to choose which way they want to think – which way they want to view each and every situation that comes up. Every day we make choices on how we respond to the outside world. We spend so much time rearranging and responding to the outside world, when we should really be learning how to break old habits and take charge of the main control center, our power of intention. It would be amazing to watch the world change as a result of all of us realizing that the external is a manifestation of the internal.
Maybe you have already spotted that it is internal; you may have even worked diligently on ways to monitor what your mind thinks. You want to have fulfilling relationships, be healthy, wealthy and wiser. Unfortunately, most of us still get challenged by the doubt that creeps in, ready to attack our minds when it sees an opening. And, that doubt, bubbling up out of the external world, undermines our true power. We may get our real peace from a higher source, but most of us know it is up to us to manage our thoughts. Part of that management involves investigating what has proven successful with our peers and mentors.
How do we shift our focus from viewing the external to manifesting the internal? As I stated above, there are techniques that will enable you to harness this energy. Do not be afraid to try them. If our minds are so susceptible that they can be influenced by the external world, just think what happens when we program them with intention. You can replace the sound bites, neon signs and all the rest of the un-asked-for garbage with some requested messages from your higher self. Why not make yourself the initiator behind your own subliminal advertising?
Techniques to harness internal visualization power:
- Practice meditation. This technique has helped many reprogram their mind.
- Visualization
- Written affirmations. Putting thoughts to paper can be very powerful.
- Audio or visual affirmations that specifically address your weaknesses.
Your mind can only handle so much information at one time. Make sure what it is processing most of the time is data that helps and heals. Finding, and using, tools and techniques that work will ensure it is really your story – your game to win. Whatever you desire is out there somewhere. You just need to learn how to tap into it so you are choosing how you think and not letting the outside world think for you. If you do not manage your own mind, it will get managed anyway. It is only a matter of by whom. Don’t let the external world win that battle, and it will, if you leave even the smallest opening in your mind. Instead, learn how to manage your mind as you fill in the voids with only the best of messages.
